As of July 2024, there are over 244 million children not attending primary and secondary school across the world. This accounts for 16% of the worlds school-aged children. Nigeria has the largest population of out-of-school children with around 20 million.

The Problem

There should be, but for several reasons there is not. In many countries across the globe, the public education is very insufficient. Lack of qualified teachers and basic amenities together with overpopulated classrooms (with sometimes over 100 students) is the grim reality in the world today.

Basic health needs such as a roof over your head, clean water and access to elementary medication is the first step out of poverty. Several important charities in the world focus their attention to cater for those needs. Education is the natural second step on the ladder out of poverty – and that is where we want to play a part.
