The Infinity BranchLet’s Build a School (For Real)
During 2025 we had settled on a land we preferred, generously gifted to us by the local organisation we collaborated with on our previous visit.
We had done our budgets for our initial building costs and our ongoing running costs of the school, and we were ready to get to action.

In April that year, the first foundational work on the land was started and the main structure of a building started to emerge. As we arrived for our second trip our main focus was to oversee the construction work and to interview potential candidates for the critical headmaster position and for primary school teachers.

The school we set out to build would be able to house up to 300 children, with all the required amenities to do so. And it was a fantastic experience to get to see the skeleton of the school emerge in front of our eyes on the plot of land that was now owned by the local charity we have helped establish.
Our trip was very successful as we spent a lot of time with the construction, overseeing that it was carried out to the standards we were looking for whilst keeping within budget.

In addition, we spent many hours re-engaging with all the key stakeholders we had met on our previous trip. Reiterating that the project was now underway and that we hoped to be able to offer education by the start of next year – the latest.
It was an overwhelming experience to see all the excitement from the local community for the project, now that we had something physically to show for it.
We left Nigeria on a high, feeling that on our next visit we would likely be able to be here for the opening of the school. All the hard work was starting to pay off with a clear milestone in site.
