Turning a Vision Into a Roadmap

After spending extensive time learning about everything crucial to their project: how to start a charity, how to build a school, how to raise money, how to spread the word and how to operate long-term for sustainable success, it was time to revise the initial blue sky-vision into something more tangible. They needed a clear business plan, a roadmap, with sequencing, timelines, accountability and follow-ups to get things moving for real.

A GANTT schedule was created. This would be the most central document for how they were going to turn their vision into reality.

The most important thing with the schedule was that it clearly outlined which steps needed to be taken in which order, what was to be prioritised, who would lead the initiative and how progress could be monitored

Chuks and Gus started to meet more frequently due to this. There were lots of long-term items but also several short-term sprints that needed active monitoring to not get stuck. Momentum was building – but was temporarily ceased – as the global pandemic limited opportunities to travel.

But once the pandemic restrictions eased, the infinity Branch was ready to put the bigger items of the project into motion. A school was supposed to be built and a location needed to be determined.

Given Chuks local expertise of his village in Nigeria, it became clear early on that this could be an ideal location for a first school project. But to determine its feasibility, the two of them needed to travel there and engage with the local community to see if the project was a good fit for them.

As it turns out, that first trip together, was just around the corner.
